Mixing musical expression and realistic sound is very difficult.smile

Even better than the last demo! And the composition is so warm yet melancholic. I hear more Ryuichi Sakamoto and even Hitoshi Sakimoto.

I think the portamento/longer legato are the hardest parts to nail with the SWAM strings, especially the upper registers. What are some of your methods to try and make it more realistic? I tend to try to avoid it altogether. smile Some libraries like 8dio's strings have unrealistic legato when it's too long so I avoid it in such cases by turning legato speed all the way up.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply!

It's a difficult question.
I think that legato speed and pitch instability and legato noise are important for the realism of portamento and legato in the solo violin. I think that it will become a real sound by raising the pitch at upper registers, sometimes slightly exceeding and returning to the original pitch.
As far as this song is concerned, I aimed at an Asian style (like Erhu), so I used portamento and slides a lot. I will not use it much in classical music.
